Refuting “Economic Suicide”

Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon. These are the words of Milton Friedman in A Monetary History of the United States. The meaning of those words is that no matter what, inflation is a function of the amount of money available. Inflation occurs when more money is introduced into the supply. When this happens, the real value of the money goes down. This is the reality. The face value perception is that things begin to “cost more.” Physical things actually still hold their same value, it is the money, due to inflation, that has lost its value, meaning that it takes more of that money to buy the same thing. Nowhere was the phenomenon of inflation, and indeed hyperinflation, more evident than in the Weimar Republic, where we find the famous historical incident of it costing a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread.

I bring up a brief discussion on the nature of inflation in response to possibly one of the most foolish articles I have seen lately. At Seeking Alpha, Henry Bee writes that Auditing the Fed is Economic Suicide. In an incredible feat of intellectual gymnastics, Bee lays down the accusation that somehow the public knowing what is happening with the money supply will be the end of the free market:

The free market understands that auditing the fed is a very dangerous line to cross. If crossed, U.S. inflation will likely skyrocket over the next decade to unseen levels. U.S. economy tanks. Bond investors lose money as interest rates rise. Stock investors earn negative real return as equity risk premium rises and aggregate PE ratio tank. The US Dollar erodes due to higher domestic inflation relative to foreign inflation. Gold and commodity prices rise.

Perhaps we can forgive Mr. Bee for being Canadian, and therefore not understanding the history of the Federal Reserve and monetary policy in the United States. Or perhaps we can direct him to the aforementioned Milton Friedman, or maybe Murray Rothbard, or F.A. Hayek, for some simple education on monetary policy. Remember, “gold and commodity prices rise” only in terms of the value of the money itself. They are physical, tangible things. They always retain the same value, and it is the value of the money itself that changes due to inflation. After beginning with the Vault, Bee continues and moves on to the Balance Beam:

How Does Auditing the Fed Cause Inflation?

Inflation is caused by a central bank that loses control of its money supply. There are two ways that a politically compromised central bank can lose control of its money supply.

I’ll interrupt Mr. Bee while he’s still doing some of his simple posing, and before he really gets going with the tumbling. Inflation is caused by a central bank that loses control of its money supply? I think not. Remember, inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon. Inflation is caused by the introduction of more money into the supply. Who introduces more money into the supply? The central bank. The Federal Reserve is our central bank. Incidentally, Mr. Bee might be interested to know that since its inception, the Federal Reserve has practiced nothing but inflationary monetary policy and, in about 100 years, has managed thereby to devalue the dollar by approximately 97%. It would seem then, that the Federal Reserve itself has been the cause of inflation all along. But I will allow Mr. Bee to continue:

Road to Inflation #1: Repeating the Political Cycle

When the central bank is not independent, politicians have historically pumped up the money supply (for temporary economic boost) shortly before an election to buy votes with a lower unemployment rate. After the election, the effects wear off, returning the economy to its natural rate of unemployment but at a higher inflation rate than before. Because it is hard to fight off inflation quickly, by the time the next election rolls around the economy has not been squeezed back to its original inflation rate. Politicians pump up the money supply again, this time from a higher base inflation. As this cycle repeats itself, the central bank loses control of the money supply.

Bee makes a good point here in defending the separation of church bank and state. However, akin to a balance beam backflip, Bee here asserts that an audit of Federal Reserve will allow politicians direct control of the money supply. Since the discussion surrounding HR 1207 has been one of simply getting a look at the books, Bee’s arguments, while valid conceptually, are unfounded in reality. Indeed, both Barney Frank and Ron Paul have agreed with Bee’s own argument, and intend to be disciplined in making the audit one that trails real time by enough that exactly what Bee purports to be the danger will not happen.

That said, I would like to ask Mr. Bee a simple question. What makes you suppose, Mr. Bee, that the Federal Reserve is not already unduly influenced by politicians? As I have explained in the past, the Fed is largely a conglomeration of private banking institutions, overseen by a Board of Governors, headed by the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, currently Ben Bernanke. The Board of Governors is a seven-member panel appointed by the President of the United States. This means, Mr. Bee, that seven people who, through their appointment, answer to the President, and the President alone, control all that is our monetary policy, all that is our money supply, and therefore all that is our inflation. If Ben Bernanke and six others answer only to the President, how exactly is the Federal Reserve not influenced by politics in the manner you suggest already?

Bee goes on to discuss a second road to inflation:

Road to Inflation #2: Financing Government Spending

A central bank that lacks independence from politicians makes it tempting for the government to finance an inappropriately large portion of its spending through printing money. A central bank that promises to finance too much government spending also loses control of the money supply.

Now honestly, there is only just so much we can forgive of Mr. Bee for his being Canadian. This really represents a complete lack of attention to current events. Inside of a four month period, the Federal Reserve just financed a $700 billion bailout of the US Financial industry through TARP, an effort, mind you, that resulted in all that money going to the noble purpose of, well, nobody really knows, followed by the $800 billion stimulus package. Based on Barney Frank’s admission in the video found in this post, Ben Bernanke indicated to him when the bailouts began with AIG, that he had $800 billion to play with. Well that covered TARP. The only logical inference then is that the Fed printed the rest to finance the stimulus. Our central bank is already following this road, Mr. Bee. The only question is, how much have they inflated the money supply?

Well the answer from the Fed has been, to this point, simple. Silence.

When seven men who answer to one man control the entire money supply, and hold no accountability, they can do as they please. Adding a check to this highly centralized power by making their actions transparent to the public cannot be a bad thing.

This morning I received an email from American Future Fund.  It is something most taxpayers will want to read.  It’s chilling.

This is the body of the email:
Last week, we told you how Obama’s tanking approval ratings were hanging like an anvil tied around the ObamaCare legislation, dooming it to a near-certain failure. So, the liberals were quick to adapt, and called it KennedyCare with the hopes of capitalizing on all of the good will and around-the-clock media coverage that engulfed the airwaves for the past few days.
So, why are congressional liberals so hell-bent on passing a wildly unpopular, government-run health care program? Because to them, it’s not even about health care anymore!
House Minority Leader John Boehner has uncovered explosive new revelations. You won’t believe what’s contained within the bill – it’s LOADED with special interest projects!
So, the liberals are desperate to pass their bill so as to bring home more power to the unions, trial lawyers and THIS:

Page 95; Section 205 – The bill directs the “Health Choices Commissioner” to conduct outreach activities, including through the use of outside organizations such as ACORN and others, to reach out and enroll exchange-eligible individuals and employers.
ACORN?! Unreal. Had enough?
How about this little nugget?

Page 53; Section 154 – The bill ensures that the new federal health care program will set a floor (but not a ceiling) for health care negotiations for unionized employers. The legislation cannot be construed to excuse them from good-faith bargaining over health care benefits. Furthermore, it will not permit unionized employers to unilaterally drop health coverage of its employees in favor of shunting them into the government-run plan or simply paying the penalty associated with not offering health care benefits to workers.
Can you believe it?!
With this bill, the liberals are intent on giving everyone power EXCEPT the taxpayers!
While you and I work each day, diligently paying the taxes that will foot this bill, the liberals in Congress have turned this bill into a playground for labor unions!
There’s more – this time it’s a nice kickback for trial lawyers:

Pages 533-551; Section 1412
– The bill requires the Comptroller General of the U.S. to conduct a study examining: “(A) the extent to which corporations that own or operate large numbers of nursing facilities … are undercapitalizing such facilities; (B) the effects of such undercapitalization on quality of care, including staffing and food costs, at such facilities; (C) options to address such undercapitalization, such as requirements relating to surety bonds, liability insurance, or minimum capitalization.” This provision primarily benefits trial lawyers who sue nursing homes.
Have you had enough yet?
This is what the liberals envision as KennedyCare. That’s some legacy to leave him, huh?
No matter how you feel about Sen. Kennedy, naming a pork-laden, special interest bill in his name is just plain wrong.
Yet, congressional liberals will stop at nothing until they can pay back their valued constituencies, no matter what the price – paid by YOU, the taxpayer.
Enough is enough. It’s time to put an end to Obama/Kennedy/GovernmentCare for GOOD.

Quintessential Liberal vs. Extreme Marxist

By JB Williams ©2009 USA

Since 52% of American voters were foolish enough to buy the story that Barack Hussein Obama is some sort of “liberal messiah,” I thought it would be interesting to compare the belief systems of America’s father of liberalism and author of our Declaration of Independence, with the Marxist belief system of the false messiah.

And since today’s liberals have so much trouble properly interpreting our Founders’ simple message to future generations, I am under no illusion that these facts will carry anymore weight with modern Marxists than Article II – Section I of the Constitution, which clearly states that Barack Obama cannot be President of the United States.

But for the rest of America, namely those who have been baffled by decades of leftist balderdash via the NEA’s academia and the state run media complex, a few real facts might help sort things out.

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization,

it expects what never was and never will be.”

Just for you leftists out there, what Jefferson was trying to say here is, you can’t be both stupid and free. This is the fly in your ointment friends. You think you can be stupid and irresponsible AND free. But you can’t… You think that freedom belongs to the spineless thief, but it doesn’t.

You think you can use a democratic process to force others to accept responsibility for your ignorance, but you can’t.

Oh sure, you can cast your vote on this basis and even elect a president and congress, who will seat a Supreme Court on this basis. But in the end, one of two things will happen. Either those who earned the gold you seek to steal, will take their gold and leave you holding your empty sack of broken promises, – or – you will trade your individual freedom for a pittance of “free stuff” from the public trough. You can be stupid, or you can be free, but you can’t be both…

In the end, there is no way to be both stupid and free! Jefferson knew this, Obamanation doesn’t.

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule,

where fifty-one percent of the people

may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.”

This is why Jefferson and fellow Founders designed and gave birth to a Constitutional Representative Republic instead of a “democracy,” and guaranteed every state a “republican” form of government.

Their Republic was limited to governance which was “representative” of the people, AND limited to the letter of Constitutional authority. The 10th Amendment says it all…

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

If the Constitution does not specifically grant the federal government authority over a specific matter, then no such authority exists and any effort by the Fed to step into that territory is simply “unconstitutional.”

Yet Obama and the modern “liberal” (aka 21st Century Marxist) believe that there are no such limitations on our federal government and that they are free to “take away the rights of the other forty-nine percent of Americans” on the basis that they won an election by “democratic process.”

Their system of government is NOT a Constitutional Republic, but rather Democratic Socialism, in which their ends justify their means and the Constitution is no barrier.

“A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.”

According to Jefferson, but not according to Obama, Pelosi or Reid, and their many minions and international friends, all of whom believe that the sum of good government is to “take from those who have used their freedom well, and redistribute to those who have not.”

For modern leftists, there is a good greater than freedom. There is political power, bought with gifts from the public treasury for our nation’s “less fortunate” and paid for by America’s most productive.

But unlike today’s faux liberals, Jefferson was THE quintessential liberal, believing in a maximum abundance of individual liberty. In fact, he went so far as to state unequivocally…

“I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it.”

On the other side of complete individual liberty is anarchy. Yet Jefferson states that he would prefer the inconveniences of too much liberty, as opposed to too little.

By today’s perverted definitions, this would undoubtedly make Jefferson a quintessential libertarian, not a modern liberal.

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

Still, over the last hundred years or so, self-proclaimed liberals have built a political dynasty on the unparalleled practice of wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. There’s no special interest or minority group they haven’t exploited, and no social engineering program they haven’t bankrupted.

Despite the very real fact that our federal government has never touched an issue it didn’t wreck, or established a budget it didn’t bust, the left has used its new power to confiscate control of banking, investment, lending, energy, auto manufacturing and individual income.

Next they seek control of health care and insurance, all under the false pretense of taking care of the people while simply stockpiling their own personal power over those people.

Jefferson would obviously, support no such thing.

“Information is the currency of democracy.”

I have always found this to be one of Jefferson’s most interesting quotes. Why would someone so clearly opposed to pure democracy, make this statement?

In further studying Jefferson’s many writings, I discovered what Jefferson meant by this statement.

As our nation’s most well-studied Founder and certainly our most prolific, Jefferson was clearly a lover of information – history in particular. As a result, he was right over and over again, including here… information is indeed the currency of democracy.

He who controls the flow and content of information can thereby control public opinion, and therefore, the decisions made by democratic process. This indeed makes “information” the most important “currency” to any democratic society. Hence, the state run media complex.

And again, Jefferson makes his point…

“It is always better to have no ideas than false ones; to believe nothing, than to believe what is wrong.”

Today’s self-styled liberal believes in concepts that are historically proven to be wrong. Communism and Socialism have failed miserably everywhere on earth they have been tried. Still, the modern liberal believes it can work. That’s because they have to believe it to justify robbing their fellow citizens of the rightful earnings.

It would be better for them to believe nothing at all, than to believe that which is clearly false. But doing so would not serve their agenda.

Even after congressional leftists bankrupted Fannie and Freddie, forcing every homeowner into falling property values, investors into bad investments supported by bad mortgages, falling markets that threaten the US dollar and the future of the free market that made America the most prosperous and powerful nation on earth, the left remains determined to stick with their failed belief system. It has never worked anywhere on earth, but they are married to it just the same.

“Leave no authority existing not responsible to the people.”

Obama has appointed more unconstitutional Czars in six months than the Soviet Union did in thirty years. They are not accountable to the people, the states, or even congressional oversight. They are appointed minions accountable only to the dictator-in-chief.

Yet…

“Liberty is to the collective body, what health is to every individual body. Without health no pleasure can be tasted by man; without liberty, no happiness can be enjoyed by society.”

America’s day of reckoning for decades of ignorance, apathy and arrogance has arrived.

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization,

it expects what never was and never will be.”

There are none more ignorant than those who refuse to see… or learn from history. They are doomed to learn the hard way, again and again!

Jefferson is America’s quintessential liberal and he had absolutely NOTHING in common with Barack Obama or any other modern liberal. In fact, quite the contrary.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”

Under the Obama administration, these two statements from Jefferson would qualify Jefferson as a “right-wing extremist” and “potential domestic terrorist,” according to Obama’s Department of Homeland Security.

That’s because Barack Obama’s belief system is based upon the concepts of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. He takes his orders from ACORN, represented by the Congressional Black Caucus, established by card carrying member of the Communist Party, John Conyers. His entire agenda was written by the Democratic Socialists of America, represented by the Congressional Progressive Caucus, established by card carrying member of the Socialist Party, Bernie Sanders

Jefferson, like every other Founding Father, is rolling over in his grave at what now passes for “liberal” in America. Not one Founding Father would stand for what is happening to this wonderful country today, nor would any call themselves “liberal” by today’s perverted definition.

The people running Washington DC today are not American. They belong in prison, not in power.

But instead, on July 16, 2009, two days before the writing of this column, Obama’s Department of Justice, headed by Obama’s man Eric Holder, issued a written threat to the state of Tennessee, signed by Assistant Director of the ATF Carson W. Carroll. In that letter, Obama’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms stated the following…

The passage of the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act, H.B. 1796, 106th Leg. (Tenn. 2009) 1796 (“Act”), effective June 19, 2009, has generated questions from industry members as to how this State law may affect them while engaged in a firearms business activity. The Act purports to exempt personal firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition manufactured in the State, and which remain in the State, from most Federal firearms laws and regulations. However, because the Act conflicts with Federal firearms laws and regulations, Federal law supersedes the Act, and all provisions of the Gun Control Act and the National Firearms Act, and their corresponding regulations, continue to apply.

A full copy of the ATF letter can be found here – http://www.tfaonline.org/downloads/ATFfirearmsfreedomact.pdf

Even though the Tennessee state legislature, through its proper course and authority, passed both a Tenth Amendment bill reminding the Obama administration that it is a sovereign state with constitutional rights, and that the federal government exists at the pleasure of the people and the states, not the other way around, and a Second Amendment affirmation in H.B. 1796, Obama does not see it that way.

At the time of passage through the TN House and Senate, Judiciary Chairman Mae Beavers had this to say- “Be it the federal government mandating changes in order for states to receive federal funds or the federal government telling us how to regulate commerce contained completely within this state – enough is enough.  Our founders fought too hard to ensure states’ sovereignty and I am sick and tired of activist federal officials and judges sticking their noses where they don’t belong.”

But despite the fact that the Tennessee legislature passed and ratified H.B. 1796, the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act of 2009, securing the rights of firearms owners and dealers in the state of Tennessee, Obama’s ATF believes that “federal laws supersede state laws.” This concept could be applied to any law in any state, of course.

It is NOT true however… The US Constitution supersedes both federal and state laws. Neither legislature can pass laws at odds with constitutional text. Under the US Constitution, the vast power is entrusted to the people and their states, not the Fed. (See Amendment X of the US Constitution) — Federal laws trump state laws only in the unbridled imaginations of leftists and federal law makers. But only because both act as though the Constitution no longer exists.

For this reason, I share another of Jefferson’s sentiments…

“I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.”

  • The inescapable natural consequence of fiscal insanity is financial ruin
  • The inescapable result of moral relativity is an immoral abyss
  • The inevitable result of federal tyranny is state and local revolt
  • The end result of bad government is unrest and eventually, a failed government

“Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty.”

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny;

when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

American citizens have come to fear their tyrannical federal government. Decades of leftist fiscal insanity in Washington DC have left the nation in financial ruin. The moral relativity of the left has shoved the nation into an immoral abyss and the day of reckoning has arrived.

The people must organize with local and state leaders in their individual states. According to the US Constitution, the Fed exists and serves at the pleasure of the people and their respective states. These principles either stand, or everything collapses. See Tenth Amendment action reports here – http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2009/07/18/the-battle-begins-atf-vs-the-constitution/

Edward Kennedy Serve America Act
H.R. 1388, Public Law 111-13
This bill has been signed into law, but still requires funding to the tune of 5.7 billion dollars over 6 years.

An annual luncheon is held in Waco, Texas each year honoring volunteers through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, a nation wide program authorized by the federal government. Approximately 600 volunteers from six counties with a combined population of 339,784 were in attendance May 30, 2009 for the annual recognition luncheon. Most of them have been volunteering service, time, energy, and money for many years.

Congressman Chet Edwards always attends this event, ostensibly to show his support for the senior citizens who do the volunteer work, but I have no doubt that he has no interest in senior citizens volunteerism aside from the political capital he hopes to earn by attending the annual luncheon as well as the votes he can get from these seasoned citizens who believe he is merely grateful for their service.

This bill would “reward” this service by awarding, in the volunteer’s name, a scholarship of $1000.00 per year to a college student per volunteer who donates at least 325 hours of volunteer work within their community.  Please bear in mind that these scholarships will not be paid for by Rep. Edwards nor Sen. Kennedy.  They get the publicity, the taxpayer gets the bill.

No one thinks scholarships are bad things. No one thinks volunteerism is a bad thing. No one thinks rewards are bad things.

On the other hand, this bill, on its face, is a horrible bill, all pork, all to get democrats elected and to assure they stay elected. There is no other rationale for this pitiful attempt at pork gouging.

Part of the explanation of the bill states that:
the goal of expanding 75,000 government-supported volunteers to 250,000, and would increase education funding and establish a summer volunteer program for students, paying $500 (which would be applied to college costs) to high-school and middle-school student who participate. Need I explain how much this might cost us, the taxpayers? It will be a bundle, accomplishing nothing, dumbing us down even farther than we already are, and a disincentive for some of the best volunteers, who see this as I see it — POLITICS and nothing more; politics which work against my best interest and which I will not support in any way.

It is not about volunteerism — there are already numerous volunteers who cheerfully donate time and energy — I DO!  Actually these “rewards” are an insult to the sincere volunteer. I am a volunteer. I do it for the clients and I do it for me. I do not want taxpayer’s dollars for doing this volunteer work, even if the US Treasury were fulll  I certainly don’t want it now that the nation is broke, bankrupt. We all know the only money the government has is what it takes from us, the taxpayers. Tying these scholarships to RSVP is nothing more than a ruse to make it sound good from all sides, dressed up somewhat like a pig with the lipstick on. It strikes me that this is a simple ruse to fool simple people, and that makes me even madder. If the goal is to pass out taxpayer money for kids to go to college to learn collectivist propaganda, let it be known that as a volunteer I refuse to give them the cover for stealing your money by “giving it away in my name”. I assure you I WILL be talking about this with everyone I meet.

It is way past time these crooks in Congress are totally exposed for what they really are — greedy narcissists with the whore’s mentality of always having the hand outstretched … not to shake, but to accept money. They don’t care about the ‘children’, the aged, the infirm, the minority, their own constituency, or you or me. WAY PAST TIME FOR TERM LIMITS. One term only. One term only. One term only.

Our region’s RSVP offices are housed at McLennan Community College and the staff is friendly and helpful.  Unfortunately, I am afraid they are not seeing this for what it is.  This luncheon for volunteers is every bit as much about Chet Edwards and the Democrat Party as it is the volunteers.  This is a political function disguised as a “thank you”, but I don’t really believe the local RSVP staff realizes that.  Surely someone at the college realizes it.  I, for one, resent it.  How tragic that our country has come to this.

Republished from Source: Original Article by J D Longstreet Socialized Medicine in the United States! : WesternFront America May 27th, 2009

obama-socialized-medicine-110x110So the big push has begun! The big push for socialized medicine in the United States. Altho, there is little funny about this boondoggle, it is sorta funny to watch the socialists in the US government, including the Obama Administration, tie themselves into knots to avoid using the words “socialized” and “medicine” in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence. Nevertheless, that is exactly what they are proposing… socialized medicine. And again, I expect ignorance to overcome logic and sound reasoning as the government shoves socialized medicine down the throats of American citizens and, in so doing, bring about the collapse of the best healthcare system in the world.

If you are one of those who actually think they are doing this because they care about you, you really need to see a shrink about your mental health, I mean your “delusions.”

America is about to experience something we have never had before in our history. Rationing of healthcare. There is simply no escaping it. Costs of healthcare will have to be brought to heel by the Obama administration and there is only one way to do that… and that is to ration it. In other words you will be placed on a waiting list and your ailment will be treated whenever they get to you, in a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or a couple of years, or maybe never. If you don’t get the care you require and you die, so much the better. That is the other way of bringing healthcare costs down.”

My wife had surgery a few days ago. The surgery was performed by a robot. Yep! A well-qualified doctor was supervising the robot, of course, but the robot did the work. The machine, we were told, costs 2 million bucks per copy. I pleaded with my wife, in the few minutes we had before she was whisked away to the operating room, to take extreme care, and for goodness sake, do not damage or break that 2 million dollar robot.

The machine is so complicated it sometimes takes hours to set it up between procedures and, as a result, it can only perform two surgeries a day.

It took only a few days, less than a week, to have the paperwork, blood work, radiological workup, and the surgery performed and return home, in my wife’s case. I was left sitting in one of those uncomfortable chairs in an ultra-modern waiting room, surrounded with huge TVs with drive-in movie size screens and stereo sound, plus a progress board, all lit up, and hanging on a wall, showing the progress of your patient in the surgical process as the hours dragged by. Those of us waiting had the option of relaxing in an area of the “pavilion” where hot coffee and snacks were offered. We were given a “beeper and every hour or so, the beeper would go off and someone from the surgical team would come out and bring us up to date on where, exactly, our patient was in the process and how, generally, the patient was tolerating the supreme invasion of a knife, even a knife wielded by a robot.

The kind of “express’ healthcare we experienced and described above, will be a thing of the past if Obama and the Democratic Socialist Party gets their way and they create and install a government run healthcare system. Of course, they are going to deny that and tell you that folks like me, who actually tell you the truth about such things, are “full of it” and don’t know what we are talking about. The sad thing about all of this is that by the time you find out that those of us warning against a government system are, in fact, telling you the truth, it will be too late and healthcare in the US will be scraping the bottom of the barrel like so many other socialized medicine programs around the globe. In other words it will be too cussed late to do anything about it!

One other thing: Do not feel secure, if, like me, you have your own private health Insurance, Why? Because the government run plan will run the private plans out of business. The private plans will not be government subsidized. The government plan(s) will. How can the private plans even be expected to compete against the government plans when the deck is so stacked against them? The simple answer is… they can’t. Soon you and I, with our private health care plans, will eventually wind up on the government health dole — whether we want to or not — and that’s the ultimate plan!

In an article titled: “Obama’s ‘Public’ Health Plan Will Bankrupt the Nation” Lawrence Kudlow says: “And does anybody believe Obama’s new “public” health-insurance plan isn’t really a bridge to single-payer government-run health care? And does anyone think this plan won’t produce a government gatekeeper that will allocate health services and control prices and therefore crowd-out the private-insurance doctor-hospital system?

Federal boards are going to decide what’s good for you and me. And what’s not good for you and me. These boards will drive a wedge between doctors and patients.” Kudlow goes on to say:”…. the Obama Democrats are determined to force through a state-run system that will bankrupt the country.” Read the entire article HERE.

Currently, there are four plans under consideration. One would simply expand Medicare. It would be a fully government run program and would not have to remain solvent to remain in business. The second would be set-up by the government and be required to remain solvent while establishing their own networks and payment schemes. Then there is the plan to have each state create it’s own state insurance following government guidelines. And the one with the least chance of making it out of committee is to have no government plan at all — and instead — clean up the current private insurance programs and police them better than they have in the past.

If all this sounds like a mess, believe me when I tell you that it IS a mess!

Look, you get nothing for free. Everything has a price, a cost. The cost may be hidden, but, believe me, it is there. The price of socialized medicine in America will be so unbelievably high if will be impossible to hide. The government will have to choose between continuing to raise taxes to pay for it, or reduce the amount of healthcare available to the patients.

There is always the threat of a tax revolt in America if the government continues to raise taxes. Many believe the tax revolt has already begun with the American Tea Parties. The first round if those tea parties saw an estimated one million Americans meeting, all across America, to protest taxes already levied by the government on her citizens. Another wave of Tea Parties are expected on July Fourth, the birthday of the nation, and many in the Republican Party now suspect the American Tea Parties are simply the birth of a third political party in America.

The GOP is between a rock and a hard place here. If they do not put up an extremely good fight against Socialized Medicine in America, there is good reason to believe there will be a mass migration of conservatives from the GOP and into other conservative political parties. The American Tea Party will be perfectly positioned to welcome those migrants into their conservative party.

The Democrat Socialist Party would be well advised to tread lightly on socialized medicine. It could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for them.

Striker101I have wasted most of this past 13 months on Digg.com, in futile jousting with immoral collectivists who do not and will not understand the morality of the personal right to life of each individual on this planet, who seek to use the Force of government to negate our right to property, and don’t give one rip about the objective of happiness.  Our right to property is now diverted from sustaining our life and enhancing our happiness, and is now instead being ripped from our hands (stolen) toward furthering the immoral goals of collectivism via Force.

Much time was simply wasted, trying to avoid reading trivia completely irrelevant to the ongoing economic collapse, and even more trivia wading thru irrelevant comments often nothing more than ignorant abusive blurbs consisting of nothing more than FU, FTW.  While we still hang onto the thread of freedom of speech, having to deal with such ignorance wastes everyone’s time and energy for naught.

During this period we have been clobbered by the burst housing bubble, bailouts serving only to increase the national debt, to the election of a non-citizen communist who now purports to be the president of this new USSA, to an infinitely broad “stimulus bill” which we have now seen serving only to increase the already impossible mountain of national debt.  This cannot be funded because the Federal Reserve cannot find buyers for the T-bills and T-bonds, thus Government cannot pay it’s bills nor even fund the bailouts and stimulus.  This is a GOOD thing, although we doubt the liberals and socialists and collectivists will not understand this just yet!

So what has this to do with Digg?  Well, just yesterday Digg ended it’s Shout feature, which was the way we could pass good articles to our friends.  Digg now suggests Facebook and Twitter be used to compensate.  Now I don’t know that you feel this way, but having to play KissyFace and Tweeting is not my idea of useful productive time on the internet, so you’ll not find me there.  If someone knows an equally active social website devoted to active and serious discussion of philosophical political issues and ideas, PLEASE comment and let me know.

But worse with Digg is it’s now blatant attempts to promote bleeding heart crap and to conceal or even delete anything relevant to true Liberty and the current actions of Government seeking to destroy that last vestage of Freedom. For that reason alone, I am done with Digg.com.  I may submit more (of Morality101) articles to Digg, but will not be otherwise participating.  I see no compelling reason that Digg will survive these fatal mistakes.  Leave that to the collectivists to have a mutual admiration society and continue to scheme how to gain more powers to Force.

I hope to convert this blogger into THE major forum for the serious ongoing discussion mentioned.  I wlll need your help to accomplish this, there is too much for me to learn about doing this and so I need the collaboration of others.  I barely know how to “Submit” an article here via WordPress, much less to set up the tools for good interaction between us.

So, requested action(s)

  • My email address is available only  to my Friends who know me as Striker101 on Digg.  If you are one of those, please either use your Digg handle or else email me so I know who you are.  You will be authorized as Authors and thus allowed to Post and to Submit.
  • To others, you will find my eaddy at the root website of http://morality101.net.
  • ONLY to those who understand the foundations of Objectivist or Libertarian philosophy, REGISTER here at  Morality101 so that you can participate, and then DO participate.
  • We are not here to argue with collectivists, who are wholly without virtue.  We are here to expand upon the likes of Ayn Rand and Ludwig von Mises.  We are here to destroy collectivism before it destroys Capitalism, the free market and Liberty.

Leave your comments HERE, don’t even bother with Digg anymore.

Groups represent human fellowship and are therefore nearly always morally superior to individuals. Groups that exist for purposes that advance the common good are morally justified in using the power of the group to circumvent the power of mere individuals. This includes confiscating the assets of wealthy individuals …

The laws of my perceptual universe are, to me, as obvious and irrepressible as the laws of physics.  I have come to embrace them and in so doing have enjoyed some modicum of personal success.  The laws of the liberal universe are no doubt as obvious to liberals, but I would argue that they are not irrepressible because…

Pretty good comparison of the individual as far superior to the collective. Given time to pull his thinking together, he’ll reach a rational summit. Well worth the read.

Human life requires action, so it logically follows that humans must take those actions necessary to sustain their lives. We also acknowledge a corollary: Actions cease to be legitimate when they deny others the freedom to act.

StrikerThis is a very well-written article, no ranting or screaming, just Reason.

Nobody wants to mention tax rises just ahead of the elections,” said Thorolfur Matthiasson, an economics professor at the University of Iceland. “But if the budget deficit is 10 percent of GDP and the official debt is approximately what the nation can produce in one year, then the politicians will have to raise tax and reduce public spending.

It’s hard to pay attention to what’s happening in such a seemingly small, remote and insignificant country as Iceland, but the parallels of retro-progress in Iceland and USA are stunning and terrifying. Think for a moment, this is a part of global collapse begun here in our USSA with the last trigger on this shotgun being the CRA. Then note our Rulers now considering renewal of the CRA to cure the problems caused by the CRA.

A domestic uprising is becoming more of a reality as our rights are threatened by the epic failure that is socialism.  It’s common knowledge that our country is struggling within its own borders.  Conservatives and liberals are at each others throats, and although there was much talk about bipartisanship we have yet to see any inclination this will happen with the democrats holding the majority.  The real question is how bad do things have to get before actions overpower negotiation.

The economy is still garbage, the unemployment rate is 8.5%, and there is active legislation to suppress rights and liberties afforded to us by our founding fathers.  This administration is an embarrassment to society, and society will only take so much before it fights back.  Attempts at negotiation with have proved fruitless, Ann Coulter said it best herself.

Political debate with liberals is basically impossible in America today because liberals are calling names while conservatives are trying to make arguments.

Its no secret that the financial stability of our country is in jeopardy.  The massive amount of money being poured into the financial sector has to come from somewhere, and that somewhere is our pockets.  Its likely going to come from pockets of Americans not yet old enough to have a voice.  Funding the bailouts is like stealing from piggy banks.  There is not an American out there who is not feeling the effect of stupid liberals trying to level the playing field.  Our country was founded around capitalism; keep your filthy hands to yourself.  Obama, in his infinite wisdom was was quoted saying

I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.

The only people this is good for is the lazy liberals who have refused to apply themselves and expect to dig in my pocket for “change”.  Try it again and you will pull back a bloody stump.

The national unemployment rate is hovering around 8.5% the highest rate since 1983.  With this many misplaced workers tension is mounting between unemployed citizens and the marxists who think its their job to run this country.  To all Karl following morons who put faith into big government and our current administration, we have news for you, we were given the right by men much wiser than all of you collectively to take you down a peg or two.

A country not focused on free enterprise is doomed to fail, and your unwillingness to admit that will be your demise.  Every public asset has roots in free enterprise, and therefor every argument you can make for socialism is weak.  If you do not stop force feeding us your agenda we will have no choice but to take a defensive stance, and by defensive I mean smear your sorry excuse for an opinion back to London where it came from.  This is not a threat, it is a promise, one that I am allowed to make if you continue to violate my rights.

I am an American, DO NOT TREAD ON ME!
