FTA: One other thing: Do not feel secure, if, like me, you have your own private health Insurance, Why? Because the government run plan will run the private plans out of business. The private plans will not be government subsidized. The government plan(s) will. How can the private plans even be expected to compete against the government plans when the deck is so stacked against them? The simple answer is… they can’t. Soon you and I, with our private health care plans, will eventually wind up on the government health dole — whether we want to or not — and that’s the ultimate plan!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some people have been fortunate enough to not need extensive medical care and would be surprised to know the cost of a serious medical problem.
In 2006 my husband was in hospital for 4 months before he passed away - cost? Just under $1,000,000.00. This was spread amongst our private insurance company, Medi-Care, and our bank account. Imagine if the taxpayer (via socialized medicine, euphemistically called national health care) had to foot the entire bill for every person in the US who had such medical problems? How much do you think each taxpayer would have to be taxed just to cover this? People, socialized medicine is not possible without jettisoning a lot of other things we currently pay for such as highways, national security, Social Security, retirement plans - and even then we will be strapped to the bone OR we will be provided with the poorest sort of health care you can imagine. Please don't fall for this ruse.
Again a good article by J D Longstreet.
The only way socialized medicine might possibly be "moral" is to make participation voluntary, requiring a Trust Fund, and prohibiting subsidization from the General Fund. Don't ever forget the General Fund is empty, deep in the Red and becoming deeper every day. Did you vote for THAT?
There is nothing moral about Force; government theft is equally illegal as private theft. There is nothing moral about Forcing private insurers out of business and destroying Capitalism. There is nothing moral about stealing from the citizenry and thereby Forcing taxpayers to have no medical alternative.
There is nothing moral about stealing from You to redistribute to Them. There is nothing moral about ceding your mind and your life to the "greater good" -- there is no greater good. Citizens are yet again being run over by the government train of Force.
Our rights to Life sustained by our right to Private property (think Money) are negated by any and all schemes of collectivism. One cannot survive to be Brother's Keeper unless one is Free to first take care of oneself.
