Morality is Liberty without Force

Browsing Posts in StartingOver

Over the past few months, I established website No-Ruler.net with Blogger.

We have seen ever-increasing collectivism using the immoral Force of government to bring upon America an totalitarian government which has proceeded to set aside our Constitution.  This is nothing new, but we have passed all possibility of return.

The collapse we have been writing about here on Morality101 for a couple of years remains largely ahead of us.  The more government manipulates with TARP and “Stimulus”, the real effects are delayed but building up to cause this “recession” to become the deep dark abyss of the Greatest Depression this world has ever known.  It will result in bankruptcy of the U.S.A. and of most or all other countries; a collapse not only of the monetary system but of the governments as well.

Please visit our article http://no-ruler.net/blog/secession/.   As we anticipate that this work will take most of our attention over the next several months, we could certainly use comments, feedback, and related articles there.  So please also register so that you can participate!

If you are in tune with us here, the biggest help you might be is simply forwarding the No-Ruler article to everyone you know!  The more quickly we can spread the word, the better our chances will be of avoiding the battles of revolution.

And since it’s that time, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Striker101I have wasted most of this past 13 months on Digg.com, in futile jousting with immoral collectivists who do not and will not understand the morality of the personal right to life of each individual on this planet, who seek to use the Force of government to negate our right to property, and don’t give one rip about the objective of happiness.  Our right to property is now diverted from sustaining our life and enhancing our happiness, and is now instead being ripped from our hands (stolen) toward furthering the immoral goals of collectivism via Force.

Much time was simply wasted, trying to avoid reading trivia completely irrelevant to the ongoing economic collapse, and even more trivia wading thru irrelevant comments often nothing more than ignorant abusive blurbs consisting of nothing more than FU, FTW.  While we still hang onto the thread of freedom of speech, having to deal with such ignorance wastes everyone’s time and energy for naught.

During this period we have been clobbered by the burst housing bubble, bailouts serving only to increase the national debt, to the election of a non-citizen communist who now purports to be the president of this new USSA, to an infinitely broad “stimulus bill” which we have now seen serving only to increase the already impossible mountain of national debt.  This cannot be funded because the Federal Reserve cannot find buyers for the T-bills and T-bonds, thus Government cannot pay it’s bills nor even fund the bailouts and stimulus.  This is a GOOD thing, although we doubt the liberals and socialists and collectivists will not understand this just yet!

So what has this to do with Digg?  Well, just yesterday Digg ended it’s Shout feature, which was the way we could pass good articles to our friends.  Digg now suggests Facebook and Twitter be used to compensate.  Now I don’t know that you feel this way, but having to play KissyFace and Tweeting is not my idea of useful productive time on the internet, so you’ll not find me there.  If someone knows an equally active social website devoted to active and serious discussion of philosophical political issues and ideas, PLEASE comment and let me know.

But worse with Digg is it’s now blatant attempts to promote bleeding heart crap and to conceal or even delete anything relevant to true Liberty and the current actions of Government seeking to destroy that last vestage of Freedom. For that reason alone, I am done with Digg.com.  I may submit more (of Morality101) articles to Digg, but will not be otherwise participating.  I see no compelling reason that Digg will survive these fatal mistakes.  Leave that to the collectivists to have a mutual admiration society and continue to scheme how to gain more powers to Force.

I hope to convert this blogger into THE major forum for the serious ongoing discussion mentioned.  I wlll need your help to accomplish this, there is too much for me to learn about doing this and so I need the collaboration of others.  I barely know how to “Submit” an article here via WordPress, much less to set up the tools for good interaction between us.

So, requested action(s)

  • My email address is available only  to my Friends who know me as Striker101 on Digg.  If you are one of those, please either use your Digg handle or else email me so I know who you are.  You will be authorized as Authors and thus allowed to Post and to Submit.
  • To others, you will find my eaddy at the root website of http://morality101.net.
  • ONLY to those who understand the foundations of Objectivist or Libertarian philosophy, REGISTER here at  Morality101 so that you can participate, and then DO participate.
  • We are not here to argue with collectivists, who are wholly without virtue.  We are here to expand upon the likes of Ayn Rand and Ludwig von Mises.  We are here to destroy collectivism before it destroys Capitalism, the free market and Liberty.

Leave your comments HERE, don’t even bother with Digg anymore.

Today I made a single Digg comment somewhere, which was picked up by Sassy, and motivated me to get this written.

That comment perhaps gave a slightly wrong impression, that I am leaving Digg.  No, I am merely pulling (partly) back from Digg, because it seems more important to me that I have time to write better explanations of morality, and surely hope I am up to that!  Seems that “morality” is construed as haughty and overbearing, how sad that it’s really quiet simple!  What I hope to get everyone to understand is simply that basic moral principles are the crucial foundation to understanding and correcting the myriad of wrongs by government and socialistic “society”.  As I finish these future pages, I will submit them to Digg, in hopes that my Friends will find them useful in future discussions.

For my own personal philosophy, which has continued for about 45 years now, Ayn Rand was quite enough.  Then during the 70′s, I helped organize the Libertarian Party, which rather fulfilled me for these many years. For me, this has been much more about a moral philosophy than it is about political action.  Along with so many others, I felt that the morality was generally accepted, and given that, our Constitution would protect us, thus continuing discussion of morality was not of critical importance.  Of course, that turns out to have been the worst judgment of our lives!

However, as we all know today, seeing here at Digg and elsewhere that the prime morality of the individual has been largely lost.  The irrational and immoral leftist / liberal / socialist /communist / fascist / mystical /altruistic mentality, now preferring the moniker “progressive”, has come to reject moral philosophy in favor of force and sacrifice, thus overwhelming America and the world with their striving “for the greater good”, “for the good of our country”, and “with each according to his ability, to each according to his need”.  While I am not religious, I cannot help but observe that such mystical statements are promoted as gospel in many churches, along with “God will take care of us”, which seems to me to be the ultimate statement of the brain-dead and hopeless.  The key element seems to be that only sacrifice merits honor.

My small library contains mostly the works of Ayn Rand.  I adopted “Atlas Shrugged” as my bible about 1964, and never needed to open it again.  However, the short absolute statements of Ayn Rand work only for people who have not allowed themselves to brainwashed; those who have kept some ideals and have exercised their ability to reason.  Perhaps if Rand had continued with her discipline, she might have left us with the ways of addressing these issues as they arose, but perhaps she expected you and me to carry on?  So we raised our family, without lecture, but by example, in objective morality, and I am proud to say that there are at least our 4 children who live by this same creed.  However, with perhaps 90% of our citizenry having conceded their reason to altruism and Big Brother, we have a great chore ahead, and must be diligent in it’s pursuit.

What we have lost over these last three generations beginning with FDR cannot be rectified in days or weeks.  The situation today has brought America and the world to unavoidable collapse into an unforeseeable Dark Age.  It is my hope that the concept of individual (not communal) freedom survives and enables a re-start someday which is wholly based on objectivist morality, which means everyone who agrees must be diligent in that pursuit!  The alternative is not pretty, clearly it will be even more of the same.

I have made or recognized some really good Friends here, people who understand morality.  On the other hand, at Digg we all also generate “Fans”, all of whom I check out as they appear.  Sadly, many of those Fans seem to hang around for the sole purpose of sabotaging our cause.  Another problem I have with Digg, for example, is that this election is over.  We have no viable choices who might win, and to continue skipping gossip about any of the candidates is a huge waste of time.  The only such that has interested me lately is that lawsuit Berg v. Obama which seems to correctly maintain that Obama is not a natural-born citizen, and may be not a citizen at all.

So, just expect that I’ll do very little commenting at Digg in the future, it’s like working 16-hour days for 2-bits an hour!  But I’ll be there watching at Digg watching the relevant.

What you, as a Friend, can do — well you already know the Digg part, Digg and Share and Share again.   It’s very disheartening to work so hard and never get past the 100-Diggs, you know?  Plus, here on Morality101.net, it will be most helpful if you would help build this website, and comment here on morality101 to either enhance or to help keep me on-track!   I appreciate your support, both past and future!

I believe this to be the most important blurb I’ve ever written.  I have submitted this to Digg, so help us all, both at Digg It!, and have the courage to comment here at Morality101.

I am very disappointed that Ron Paul abandoned us today, telling us to ‘vote no’ by voting for any other 3rd party candidate.  Horsefeathers!  I am equally disappointed that Dr Paul chose to abandon his former Libertarian Party and play Republican.  Pseudo-Libertarian Bob Barr doesn’t even grasp libertarian principles, and has never addressed the issues and possible solutions of our economic collapse.  All the other parties and their candidates are a joke, yes, absolutely including the Republicans and Democrats.

While I might waste the gas to go write in Ron Paul, the fact is voting just became an exercise in futility.

So, back to after Digg truncated a post for me, my point is…

It seems clear to me that America can survive but little longer unless it takes immediate and drastic steps to reverse it’s progression into economic collapse.  Failing that, we may not survive even to this coming election.  Given the horrible choices for our next leadership, certainly we cannot continue on this path for another four years.  I am 70 years old; I am not and never have been a Gloom & Doom guy, but folks, we are at the end of this rope!  Unless somehow the goons in government suddenly show signs of life and rationality, which we have no reason to anticipate, the show is all over.

The economic collapse will be triggered by inflation running to hyperinflation, caused by overwhelming national debt which grows with every stimulus, every bailout, and every new socialist scheme.  There is no money for any of this, so it’s all simply being piled atop the national debt.  Our dollar will become worthless and unacceptable to the rest of the world.  The USA will have to admit it is bankrupt, however that might be accomplished, and disavow not only the national debt, but also will default on all it’s other obligations, e.g social security and medicare and welfare and highway maintenance — you name it, it will disappear.

Few of us will have enough to buy food or pay our utility bills, plain survival will make life interesting indeed!  The rich (bless ‘em) will be able to pay off their mortgages and other debt with hyperinflated money, and find tremendous bargains to the extent of their bankrolls.  But most of them will run out of money too, and find themselves holding a whole truckload of worthless T-Bills and investments as our government and private interest also collapse.

The only way I see of saving our butts depends on two key actions:

1.  Congress immediately acting to rein in or abolish the Federal Reserve.  The Fed’s manipulation of the economy must end, NOW!  The Fed must be barred from more debt and thereby expanding the money supply.  It must also be barred from tinkering with monetary policy, that which destabilizes our economy and interferes with free market capitalism, throwing us back and forth between boom and depression.

2.  Congress must reverse course immediately on everything adding to the national debt, and show the world HUGE progress toward paying that debt down.  Nothing impromptu can be added to the debt – e.g. no bailouts, no takeovers, no stimulus, no subsidies… all must end.  We may have to tell Iraq and Afghanistan and Israel that we believe we have accomplished our objectives and we’re going home.  We must tell the world we can’t support them anymore because we must deal with our own issues here at home.  We must seek to collect the abandoned debts due us around the world.  Here at home, we must eliminate most of our bureaucracy, first because of it’s immorality, and also because we can’t afford it.  Among other moves we might take would be selling off the government lands, e.g. those held by the BLM — and yes I know that would be very disruptive to the market enjoyed by big real estate investors, but perhaps they’ll take advantage, so ???  We must put an end to all support to immigrants, legal and illegal, while making it simple for enter legally for anything serving our American interests.

The above is the “short list”.  If you have something helpful to add to the above, or can contribute other solutions to our national dilemma,  registering is as easy as possible, please join us!

I may return to edit this page later, simply because both the underlying casual morality and the longer-term solutions could well be included here.

Meanwhile, those are already written in several pages you’ll find in my Tax-Strike category, along with the Libertarian and Objectivism tabs in the header at the top of all blogger pages here on Morality101.

the changes in weather patterns has produced this year an unusual number of tornados, yet according to my own research on the thermodynamics of the storms, this pattern will persist and grow stronger until a balance is reached after the melting of the polar caps….. there will be no hurricanes of any duration as the atlantic oceans are getting much to warm to produce such an anomaly, and will occur less and less as the polar caps melt…… however the resultant change will affect the pacific oceans by producing typhoons 3 to 4 times as severe as normal and you may see the west coast of california actually become the next hurricane alley. the resultant change in the tornado frequency, will also shift fro a south-east/midwest area of occurrence to a westerly, and also a canadian midsection occurrence of frequent tornado activity…… the affects of these weather occurrences will drastically shorten the growth of our food supply, and you may see an overall reduction to 50% of what we used to grow to feed the world….. the poorest nations in the world will be the hardest affect, with their populations becoming so frantic over hunger, the eventual end result will be world war over the remaining supplies…. on a personal level, such as where you live, next year will see a doubling of the price of milk, tripling of the price of bread and a corn tortilla, quadrupling of the price of meats and chickens, and finally, as oil approaches a record $140 a barrel next week, gas will hit a new all time high of $5.50 a gallon…… these sociological changes in the economic life of this country will catch even the most die hard skeptics by surprise, and will produce a reaction quite unexpected , by the masses, one, of sheer panic…….. food will become a weapon of force to motivate the masses to do the bidding of their masters, are you ready to play or pay, which is it………

With the emergence of a new global economy, created by the ever expanding corporate multinationals, the status of the U.S. as the dominant force in the world market is growing ever in doubt. Did this need to happen? From a laymans point of view, losing jobs, financial instability, cross border rivalries, seems at best to be a no-win scenario. So does a free market really work with the whole world competing against one another for a piece of the global economic pie! if in creating wealth in another part of the world, is it worthwhile to create disparity in our country? There are those who say that only through education and new technologies, we can retain a competetive edge. Reality is showing otherwise, and if you have trouble seeing the issue, just look at the loss of manufacturing jobs in this country, which by the way is a real and direct threat to the national security interests of this country. The political leaders of our country don’t seem to get it, so in order to fool us even further, the tide of illegal and foreign workers, are being used to feed the great machine of industry, and erode the capabilities of the American worker further, knowing full well, what the end result will be. This nation is fast becoming a 3rd world ghetto. Gang violence, theft, looting, hunger, murder, are only a harbinger of a failing society. Most Americans say they do not like where this country is heading, and I ask, where would you as a free people want this country to go to! Should we have trade tariffs to protect our interests, should we shut the borders down, and employ only Americans, and should we break up the multi-nationional corporations, that do business here? What should we do, that is the $64 question. For those who are caught in the struggle of living paycheck to paycheck, these questions seem irrelevant, when filling up the gas tank in the car costs $100. My answer to any of you, is think, reason, and most of all quit believing that the quick fix is with a newly elected political leader. The answer actually begins with you……

at Yahoo! Answers: Question in regards to the Federal Reserve?
The Federal Reserve was established in 1913 and is, therefore, a creature of Congress. The President of the United States nominates members of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, subject to confirmation by the Senate. However, the Federal Reserve is basically free to pursue monetary policy independent of Congress or the President. Should the Federal Reserve remain independent of the President and Congress or should the President and Congress control monetary policy? Why?

I wrote this answer, but by the time I’d finished the Q had been withdrawn.  No problem, I’d rather have it here on morality101 anyway.

Our problems with the Federal Reserve stem from, perhaps from it’s very existence, but certainly from it’s freedom to manipulate the money supply at will.

Over the last couple of years prior, in an effort to slow down inflation, the Fed caused interest rates to rise.  Among other effects, those naive souls who had taken Adjustable Rate Mortgages found their payments rising beyond their means, which caused foreclosures to increase perhaps six-fold, which resulted in mortgage bankers losing liquidity (e.g. Bear-Sterns, there will be more), which resulted in too many homes on the market, which resulted in falling home prices and the virtual shutdown of the construction industry.  All these were factors in resulting in yet another recession.

So during 2008, the Fed switched gears and lowered the discount rate several times, which bailed out illiquid mortgage bankers, which increased available mortgage money, which is enabling home buyers to purchase homes (foreclosed or otherwise) at better prices with lower loan rates again.

The whole game is predictable.  One needs understand only the very basics of economics (supply and demand applies) in order to predict the future maneuvers of the Fed.  I

In due course, the Fed will cycle us back to even greater inflation.  Inflation WILL be greater because of the rapidly increasing national debt, caused by the politicians voting for war, socialist schemes, subsidies, “stimulus” etc etc ad nauseum.  All are  passed by our politicians despite not having the money to pay for them.  Thus the congress routinely raises the national debt limit so they can borrow the funds, the Fed makes the bookkeeping entries creating more “money” (federal reserve NOTES), and like magic, it’s all a done deal.  Reason enough not to give politicians control of monetary policy, right?

Nothing in all this should be construed as my justifying the continuing existence of the Fed.  If, for the time being at least,  the Fed continues, then congress must cause the Fed to cease  manipulation of the money supply and forbid expansion of the money supply in beyond indexes of population, income, GDP and/or such other indexes as may are appropriate.  Perhaps we will rediscover that applied economics actually has some value in our world for this indexing chore.  Natural market forces will provide the monetary stability which has been absent from the beginning of the Fed.

There are many proponents for going back to the gold standard, but I’m not convinced that is necessary.  You may want to check out as a free-market alternative to the dollar – the Valun.

Yes indeed, this is getting a bit off my beaten path, but is surely related in a different way.  This issue has churned around in the back of my little head for some years now, and now I guess it’s time.

The trigger was reading that the USA has 5% of it’s population in prison, and that is the highest percentage of any country in this whole WORLD!  (so this is a “free country”, huh?)

Five percent of 330-some million people, geez, that 16,5 million prisoners in our “free country”!  All those prisoners cost the remainder of we “free” citizens $30,000 each per year.  My calculator doesn’t have enough digits to compute the total, but it’s humungous!

My purpose here was not to look at the reasons for so many being in jail, that would be for another post another day, and will take some further research, as have all my writings here.  But “crimes without victims” certainly do count up.  Now I’m not into drugs, but both drug-dealers and drug users are many amongst those filling our jails to overflowing. I don’t see the users as “criminals”, and they should not be in jail.  However, I also disagree with the bleeding hearts that we have some responsibility for the rehab of drug-users.  Drug users are responsible unto themselves for the consequences of their own choices.  If those are minors, their parents are responsible; the taxpayers are not.

But back to my purpose.  Obviously the total number of real criminals is much smaller, and eliminating those convicted of crimes without victims would help alleviate the burden.  Surely there are others who don’t belong in prison, but that still leave a huge prison population.  Why do the bleeding hearts prevail, protecting the criminals who have been so violent or stealing from the good citizens?  So how to we refuse to support the baddies and zero the bill?

Whatever I should choose to say from here on is largely brainstorming.  I’d doing this because we need solutions based on freedom, and we need to have ideas on the table from which to build solutions.  So we need some fresh perspective, because what we’re doing does not work, it does not reform, and does not rehabilitate, so those are bad ideas we need to abandon.

Question 1:  Does the criminal owe a penalty to “the State”, or rather, to his victims?  Can we turn the criminal over to his victims, and let them determine the penalty, and to own the criminal’s life until the debt be repaid?  Of course we can, and I believe we should.

Question 2:  Should the criminal, once convicted, be held responsible for the value of damages he caused, or the life he took, or the cost of his trial?  Of course he should.

Question 3:  Are we (the ‘public’) responsible in any way for the care and feeding of criminals or for the welfare of criminals?  Do you have the guts and honesty to answer NO?

So do we build them prisons, and furnish utilities and guards and food and libraries and food?  Of course we don’t.  All we need do is prevent those criminals, who possess traits dangerous to others, from disappearing back into private society to repeat their dastardly deeds.

As we get from history, Australia was populated by England shipping it’s criminals there, dropping them off the boat, and leaving them to fend for themselves.  Have you noticed that Australia has evolved into a fine upstanding country and neighbor despite the genetic origins of it’s citizenry?  To a lesser extent, early American immigrant settlers included many of the same, from England as well as escapees from Germany, Ireland, Spain, France and other countries.  Nobody shouldered the burden for these emigrants.  It became necessary for them to find some niche in their new society where they might survive, and learn the necessary social skills and honor by which they could be acceptable to their new neighbors, and go forth and multiply, and prosper under newfound freedoms.  Of course many would have failed in many different ways; probably they did not survive, usually because they were unable to adapt to a moral social structure.  Those are not amongst the heroes of history, neither memorable nor remembered for anything of value.

Such islands today are not available, we can only designate a space where the criminals may park and strive to survive and to heal.  They must pay for the space they occupy, and paying for any of the services provided from outside their environment.  Both the Federal and State governments have huge holdings of such land; there is no shortages of land which might render this unfeasible.  If they wish to escape the sun or the snow or the wind, they can and must build their hut or cave as they see fit, and cooperate with others of their kind to create a social order in which they might survive progress.  They can do all these things only by producing within the free market, trading for goods and services, and learning how to survive and prosper by being responsible for themselves and cooperating with their fellowmen.  Their refusal or failure to learn these necessary moral postures might result in their death, but that would be of their own choosing, and is a social responsibility of anyone not directly involved.

At some point I may come back to this page to fine-tune and/or elaborate, but for now I want to publish this and get some action or reaction, either way.  We are all feeling our way on this issue.  Thank you.

the 95 years prior to the Federal Reserve beginning:

What cost $1.00 in 1818 would cost $0.62 in 1913.
Also, if you were to buy exactly the same products in 1913 and 1818,
they would cost you $1.00 and $1.66 respectively.

the 95 years after 1913 under Federal Reserve manipulation:

What cost $1.00 in 1913 would cost $21.23 in 2007.
Also, if you were to buy exactly the same products in 2007 and 1913,
they would cost you $1.00 and $0.05 respectively.

How can anyone truly keep up if The Fed in cahoots with the government causing the dollar to fall faster than real returns on savings & investmets?  These days the government jabber focuses on “acceptable” rate of inflation — only ZERO inflation is acceptable!

Inflation and the National Debt today are unmanageable and causing the now-inevitable ecomoic collapse of the USA.  Do you really believe this system deserves your further support?  Can you suggest alternatives

It’s past time to WITHDRAW!  Let’s hear from you!

Do you know, with a superconductor, you can power a car with 2 deep cycle batteries, for a week, running at 80mph, 24 hrs a day, light and heat a house for a month, run a freezer, watch TV, play with your computer, all off a couple of batteries, geez, gotta make you wonder, if we can create the manhattan project to build the a-bomb, what would happen if we created another project to create a superconductor, just to get the oil cartels off our backs, and maybe save the planet in the process, mmmmmmmmmmmm, just for thought……..
