I have been posting articles and comments on Propeller.  It is a great site for communicating, but it does have some flaws that I really wish they would work out.  As I see it, it is partly Propeller regs and partly its members.

Recently there have been several articles grounded, which I am told is automatic, within the software, and set to algorithms, and if so, that’s understandable.  However, in one way this is a disincentive to debates.  I, or some other conservative will post a comment or submit an article.  Immediately that article is swarmed with people who proceed to immediately bury it.  So far, so good.  No particular complaints so far.  However, this is not right.  Things need to be changed to ENCOURAGE debate, not cut it off.

I recommend Propeller do this:

1.  Re-set algorithms to NOT ground before 12 hours are up to enable more people to read and comment on articles – some people work at jobs to pay taxes and have ideas about various topics, yet are disallowed to comment on an article if it is grounded within an hour or so of posting.

2.  Do not allow any drops from individuals who have not read the article.  This is becoming more a popularity contest than a discussion and news resource.  Who can get the most votes?  Who can say the most outrageous thing?  But primarily who can ground a story before it is read is particularly insidious and distasteful.  This is a juvenile display of ……. I don’t know what to call it.  I’ve never known this type of behavior before.

This is would allow no one any special rights, and no one’s rights would be infringed upon.  But some of us don’t care for the game of “ground the other guy” and don’t have the amount of time to “neg” as do some others.  I would like to see Propeller make these two changes, please.  What do others think?

This just in from Digg.com.  It’s just a copy/paste of the text in and out of wordpad to get rid of the html jibberish, because that’s hard to deal with in Wordpress and because I don’t care to present their “prettiness”, and cutting out some irrelevance:

You are receiving this email because you asked to receive updates from Digg.com.
Note: This email address is for distribution purposes only. ..”

So by eliminating shouts and communications with our friends, Digg has managed to lose so many users that now they finally have overcome their problems with server capacity and are resorting to SPAM to fill their void.

There is NO way one can consider this to be an “update”.  It is SPAM, promoting Digg’s unknown but hand-picked people to answer questions about what… Digg’s leftist agenda?   Hmmmm….promoting this time a skateboarding computer-geek who’s into gaming.

Now Tony there would surely have all the propah answers about collectivism, hmmmmmm!

So this is simply SPAM, and we object, Digg!  PULEEZE!

Liberty is Moral

Liberty is Moral

Just a quick announcement here.

We will now be submitting everything from Morality101.net to Propeller.com and have formed a new Propeller Group called Liberty is Moral, in which our friends from Morality101, Digg, Facebook and Twitter can participate and submit their own favorites and articles as well.

Digg.com was our favorite social website for quite a long time, but slid way downhill as a result of eliminating shouts and sharing, shunting those off to Facebook and Twitter.  In our view The workarounds were quite useless, just wasting too much of our time with duplications.  So we’ve moved to Propeller as our “social” site for most future submissions.

This group uses admin approval for membership.  We’ll plan to keep the spammers, personal attackers, and the adamant ObamaBots, No-Birthers and Collectivists out of the loop, but perhaps there will be a few who can engage in open-minded and productive discourse with our basically conservative / libertarian group.

We hope for a forum with real drive for both discussion of, and action toward, the virtues of liberty, capitalism, the free market, and progress toward true freedom.

If the shoe fits, wear it, come join us!

Thanks from Tasine and Striker101

I disagree that my actions were spam.  I was referring to my own website, to specific articles I had written which were most relevant to the numerous flood of healthcare “diatribe” spamming Digg these days.  As to “spam”, my website does not even carry advertising as Digg does, which is truly spam, although I certainly understand the financial needs to do so.
I know Digg is liberal/collectivist, and I am hardly alone in seeing and reporting how is destroying our country with both force and bankruptcy, and while you may opine my writings as diabribe, they are most certainly not that.  There was no call for you do to resort to such low-life terminology.

In well over a year, I never personally abuse anyone, nor swear, and I normally will not become involved in the many long personal truly diatribal and useless flaming comments which run way off subject.
The person who “reported” me posted that he/she would do so, and it was that digger who was irrelevant and in no way responding to what I had written.

That said, I did re-read your community guidelines and will try to be somewhat more restrained in my activities.  I hope you will restore my good standing, but it’s your show.

Now here is my post(s) which yes I posted to several articles about “healthcare”, to several articles as they appeared in “Upcoming”.  Most had slight differences.
People, battling with the trivial details will result only in modified Force.

Fact:  ANY forced scheme serves only to diminish and destroy Liberty.
Fact:  Every regulation, every tax is theft by Force denying your Mind and your Right to Life.

If you grasp the moral foundation of Liberty it is clear and simple.  Many seem to prefer spending the rest of life arguing on Digg and anywhere else — that is an excercise in futility!

We have reached the crossroad of constitutional crisis — there is no turning back.  It is time to identify our friends of Liberty and our foes of Force.

READ my http://morality101.net/blog/morality/ — plus read header pages /Force/ and /Sacrifice/.  If that makes clear sense to you, for gosh sake register, comment, post and take action!

Then come back here on Digg — American Citizens only — comment and vote simply…  ‘Liberty’ or ‘Force’.  Digg up or digg  down, who cares?  No comment, no count

.

And for the many who won’t bother, here is an exceprt from my Morality webpage, which is the essence of my moral foundation:
  • Your life belongs only to YOU, which means… it does NOT belong to anyone else.
  • Who has the right to your life? Only YOU!
  • Who has the right to control or manipulate your Life? Only YOU!
  • Who determines the level of quality of your Life? Only YOU!
  • Who then is Responsible for your Life?  Hmmm, would that be YOU?
  • Further, you are also responsible for the family which you have chosen, but no others.
  • And in return your family is equally responsible for you.You may Choose to assume responsibility for others whom you value, but…
  • The extent and longevity of responsibility for those others is strictly your Personal Choice.

Nuff said!

This began with my writing this comment at Digg about Obama’s refusal to disclose his real birth certificate:

The original article posted here on Digg was poorly written, obviously Lily Gordon didn’t grasp the basis for Major Cook’s stance. Therefore the Digg blindfolders went wild and the thread quickly deteriorated into a plethora of racist and homosexual denigration which had nothing to do with Obama’s continuing evasion.

Nothing changed; America still hasn’t seen a real B.C. The courts sidestep the issue time after time on the basis that nobody has “standing”, etc, etc, ………… leaving little but a game for the lawyers to play. The paradox is that nobody, including SCOTUS, can order Kenya to open it’s vault.

The Constitution has failed to protect America on this and on everything which has ensued. As a result, America is being overrun with unconstitutional and immoral collectivism via the “president” who isn’t. Obama and his lackeys will never cooperate by disclosing the real B.C. This is simply a crime against humanity.

Therefore, that which has been forced upon the American people can be set aside from the abyss of the progressing economic collapse which may include government collapse. With the people then finding it necessary to rethink everything, finally reinstate the morality of liberty, and restart with a clean sheet of paper, perhaps humanity can survive and be all it could be.

This does not mean I am giving up on the push for the real BC, but this mountain may be impossible to climb, and the death of America is then inevitable.

There can be only one reason that Obama & Co. has not, and will never, reveal Obama’s true and real birth certificate.  That only possible reason is that whatever and wherever it exists would serve only to prove that he is not a “natural born citizen”. To make this available to the citizens would result in Obama’s immediate removal from office, open him to charges of malfeasance and treason, and render his every action as president null and void.  This will most certainly be called a Constitutional crisis, but less harmful than what this fraudulent communist has already done toward the destruction of America.

If we “birthers” were wrong about this, it would have been easy to prove us wrong by simply laying that real piece of paper out where the citizens could see it.  All the time which has passed serves as incontrovertible fact that Obama is not a “natural born citizen”, which renders his cohorts as partners in crime.

The only way out of this dilemma might be if some court actually orders Obama to produce his true BC, which will eventually be appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, which will then finally hear this matter, but SCOTUS seems most unlikely to uphold such an order due to some reason of “standing” or else-wise.  Once again the people will realize that our Founders, who did their utmost to write a solid Constitution, left too many gaps which have come to be exploited over these 230 years of “legal” nitpicking.

Now, after these many moons of avoidance, if any such BC were to magically appear, it would be subject to great distrust, the reasonable expectation being that Obama & Co managed to bribe a and hire a very few persons to create a forged BC along with related indexes and such.  This would trigger the need for placing such BC under the microscope of scrutiny, and eventually the real truth would become the subject of infinitely more debate.  That would be a no-win never-win situation for our entire nation.

My expectation is that our divided nation will eventually find itself in revolution pitting the “Obamabots” against the “Wingers”.  Nothing will be resolved, but many gallons of blood will be shed.in a horrible exercise of futility.  History must then conclude that all of this could have been avoided by Obama simply disclosing the truth, thus Obama will be deemed responsible for such disastrous events regardless of the outcome.  Most assuredly some historians, those more interested in “Change” than in Truth, will attempt to reach other conclusions.

While I could continue this for many pages, I choose to close this here, and return with one or more articles on where we go from here.  Hopefully those will be published very soon.

Just how bad is the current plague of economic fallacy?

Consider the front page of the New York Times today (July 15, 2009):

SEACHANGE IS SET IN A HEALTH PLAN – House Democratic leaders took a big step toward guaranteeing health insurance for most Americans on Tuesday as they unveiled a bill that detailed how they would expand coverage, slow the growth of Medicare, raise taxes on high-income people and penalize employers who do not provide health benefits to their workers.

A BLEAKER PATH FOR WORKERS TO SLOG – In California and a handful of other states, one out of every five people who would like to be working full time is not now doing so. It is a startling sign of the pain that the Great Recession is inflicting, and it is largely missed by the official, oft-repeated statistics on unemployment.

It’s sometimes said that economics is a difficult subject because it requires high-level, abstract thinking, and tracing of cause and effect through several logical steps. And yet, really, how hard can it be to see the contradiction in the above?

Here is the problem. Mandating benefits to employees imposes costs on employment. The would-be worker bears the cost. It makes the worker more expensive to hire. The employer has to pay not only a salary but also a benefit. If you make it more expensive to hire people, fewer people will be hired.

It is no different from eggs at the supermarket. If they are $2 each, you will purchase fewer of them – you will economize. This is nothing but the law of demand: consumers will demand less of a good at a higher price than a lower price. A salary plus benefits amounts to a price that the employer must pay to purchase the work of a laborer. At a higher price, less work will be purchased by the employer.

That means that requiring employers to provide health benefits to employees and potential employees will make the job situation today worse not better. It will intensify the current problem that people want to work more but are having a hard time getting employers to hire them.

The answer is the same in every recessionary environment. The price of labor must fall in order for the surplus of workers to be absorbed into the market. Raising the cost of hiring only further entrenches the problem and creates new forms of unemployment.

There is no real reason to prove these assertions empirically since they flow from the logic of economics. Nonetheless, Richard Vedder and Lowell Gallaway spent years accumulating evidence of the link between full employment and lower labor costs, on the one hand, and higher labor costs and unemployment on the other. What they found in their book Out of Work was that the entire problem (or nearly the entire problem) of unemployment can be explained through the issue of the costs of hiring and employing. In other words, there is no mystery here. Unemployment can be created or solved by the application of policies and laws.

In a free market, however, there is no unemployment that persists that isn’t chosen by the workers themselves. That’s because the price of labor is continually fluctuating based on supply and demand. Everyone who wants to work can work, simply because we live in a world in which there is always work to do. Only artificial interventions can generate the unemployment problem we have today.

Even so, and for reasons that are unknown and can only mystify the learned person, the Congress and the Obama administration keep trying to pretend as if reality doesn’t exist. Here they are imagining that they can just order businesses to give everyone health care and then suddenly health care for all comes into being.

As with all programs, we have to ask: what is the cost? I don’t mean what the cost adds up to in terms of government spending. I mean: what is the social cost of overpricing labor relative to what the market would bear? In this case, there is no way to know in advance, but we can know that fewer people will be hired than otherwise.

And then what happens? Business goes to government hoping for a subsidy or for fully socialized medicine as a way of sloughing off the costs on the whole of society instead of bearing them directly.

Sadly, there is no way that free health care can be granted to all living things with the stroke of a pen. Broadening availability will require that the entire sector be turned over to the private sector, so that it can be controlled through the price system like everything else.

As it is, the imposition of new penalties on business will make them less, not more, likely to hire people, which will thereby intensify the labor problem. It is like trying to cure a drug overdose with the injection of poison. New mandates on business are exactly what we do not need.

In other words, the whole idea is just plain dumb, not to mention incredibly ill-timed. The worst possible time to be imposing new mandates on business of any sort is during a downturn. Make the mandates labor specific and you have a recipe for causing the unemployment rate to land in the double digits and go up from there, higher and higher until the entire economy shuts down.

Presumably, not even Congress and the President would benefit from this result.

I was “thumbing through” Morality101 and espied the War on Drugs Clock.  It’s an interesting page and paints a heck of a picture.

This is a free country (at least for now), so we have the freedom to change our minds on occasion, right?  I spent years and years believing mind altering drugs should be banned with penalties.  That was done – and in addition to VERY costly, it was very WASTEFUL – wasteful of policemen’s time, courts’ time, everyone’s money, and it would appear it has done no good whatsoever.

So my question is:  why are we still fighting it?  Has fighting it become addictive?  Have we decided that if we fight it long enough it will eventually pay off?  There has to be some good reason we throw money at something when we get nothing in return.  This boggles the mind.

I am not a drug user – have never even been in the presence of marijuana, cannot recognize the leaf or the odor.  I attend church regularly, not that anyone here cares, but I am merely providing truth in advertising so to speak.

I believe it is time to stop this “war” and let our law enforcement people get back to fighting crime rather than chase dealers and coke heads day in and day out.  I have come to the conclusion we should stop trying to legislate in any way people’s behavior with only one or two caveats.

I would legalize all heretofore illegal drugs for purchase at pharmacies without RX by adults who must sign as well as pay for the substance.  That person must not be allowed to escape responsibility and penalty if anyone is harmed by him or his actions while he is under the influence of said drug.  I would include alcohol in this law.  Under no circumstances should insurance companies be mandated to pay for these substances when not ordered for a medical reason.

If we legalized illegal substances, our streets and neighborhoods would be safer – there would be no drug lords, no crazed addicts running amok, no crack houses, not as many murders that involve drugs, and the police could do police work rather than baby sit addicts.  Our overcrowded jails would be emptier, our courtrooms would be emptier.  It is even possible our hospitals would be emptier.

It is way passed time to quit mollycoddling addicts and other self made victims.  I believe if they want to drink themselves or drug themselves to death, that should be their privilege.  Trying to save them from that has been a huge disaster and far too costly.  The taxpayer doesn’t deserve to be saddled with society’s self made cripples any longer.
